This work is based on the censorship-translation-ideology relationship and has a double objective: to propose a research programme and to present a classification model for the data available so far. On the one hand, it presents a research-scheme based on the theory of fields, complementary to the schemes presented in previous papers, but which reveals both creative and destructive conditioning factors arising from the combination of censorship and translation in the field of Basque Studies. A general framework of this type is fundamental for visualizing new lines of research and classifying the data that Historical Memory in Iberian Literatures (MHLI) research-group has extracted in the documentation-process carried out in the General Administration Archive (AGA). In this sense, research questions related to the research-scheme presented are proposed, as far as they are useful for the exploitation of the data extracted from the censorship files of the AGA. On the other hand, the research-scheme proposed is used to classify the data available so far in relation to Franco’s censorship and translation in the field of Basque Studies (this work focuses on examples of censorship cases related to written texts), in order to debate issues such as the elements of social structures that influence translation processes, discourses, corpora and canon eliminated and promoted in censorship situations, as well as translation strategies to avoid or support the censorship process.
