Abstract

Multilingual educational approaches consider translation as a useful pedagogical strategy to manage, use and value students’ multilingualism. We present here the principles of translanguaging and Integrated Language Treatment, and revise some works on the use of translation in class. Then, we propose a classification of strategies and present nine examples showing to what extent they do respect the principles of the framework for education in the Basque Autonomous Community.
