Although article 2 of the Constitution establishes that French is the language of the Republic, the teaching of Basque and in Basque has experienced constant growth in recent years in the Northern Basque Country. As a result, the number of students in bilingual education has increased and the teaching offer has increased and multiplied over time. If it is true that this growth has had to face a series of obstacles that should not be underestimated, it is equally true that there are strengths in the teaching of Basque and in Basque, such as the fact that it is a tool for building consensus, the experimentation of linguistic immersion in public and private education, or that there are educational agents united by a common goal and evaluation procedures.Downloads
