Abstract

Undoubtedly, the bombing of Guernica was the most important symbolic legacy left by the Spanish Civil War left in the Basque Country. That painful incident, which took place on 26 april, 1937 was retrospectively reflected in many literary and artistic works. This article focuses on the poetic expressions and to that end, will be organized into five sections: self-defining reading, sociology-historical reading, literary and meta-literary reading, anthropological reading and personal reading.
