Abstract

As a Romantic, a Romantic perspective emerges in the two books written by Chaho and entitled “Voyage en Navarre pendant l’insurrection des Basques” (1830-1835) and “Biarritz entre les Pyrénées et l’océan. Itinéraire pittoresque (1855)”. Wonderful landscapes, upright people from an ancient race, attached to their freedom, and owners of their unique language and culture. A testimony full of praise.
