Literatura konparatuen lehen agerpenak euskal literaturan: Lauaxetatik Pott Bandara

Abstract

Comparative literature or the comparative view of literature emerged in the 19th century, but did not develop in Basque literature, with rare exceptions, until a century later. This paper sets out from the features of comparative literature to consider the first attempts in this respect in Basque writing, ranging from Lauaxeta to the earliest years of Bernardo Atxaga: how they were implemented, in what context they developed and what place they hold in the general debate on comparative literature.
