Jean-Baptiste Dasconaguerre: datu biografiko berriak

Abstract

The aim of this work is to shed new light on the, until now, somewhat forgotten biography of the writer Jean-Baptiste Dasconaguerre, considered the father of the Basque novel for the publication of “Atheka-gaitzeko oihartzunak” in 1870. Firstly we shall look at the current state of this biography, highlighting several mistakes and some nonsensical information. With the intention of updating the biography we shall then proceed not only to offer corrections but also bring to light some previously unknown biographical details.
