Frankismoaren zentsura arte plastikoetan

Abstract

The censorship of plastic arts during Franco’s dictatorship was studied very little if compared with literature or the press. The studies carried out all center on fixed period of time but not however, on the 40 years that this period lasted. For this reason the aim of this article is to address this period in depth, bearing in mind the changes and remodeling that took place during the Francoist dictatorship. As a consequence, the text is split into 3 eras: the post war years, the 1950s, and from the sixties decade up to and including the transition years. The continuation of censorship during the last era is analyzed in the epilogue.
