Abstract

Stories shape our personality in one way or another, and whether we like it or not, works of literature do transmit values to us. According to one current of criticism, this task entails an ethical responsibility. For instance, when dealing with a subject like conflict, whether post-modern or not, it would be acceptable to seek an ethical attitude. In this piece of work, the author has endeavored to examine how the Basque conflict has been dealt with in Basque-language narrative writing of Navarre by looking at the strategies and resources present in the works of each author. Being a Navarrese writer has certain consequences with respect to certain approaches to narrative, and this analysis seeks to make them explicit.
