Cimientos del Sistema Cultural Vasco (1975-1990): Las tradiciones no canonizadas: Joseba Sarrionandia

Abstract

The main basis of the actual Basque Culture System were made up during the cultural reconversion between 1960 and 1990. The tradition, as a symbolic resource, underwent a very deep reformulation. Based on the exhaustive analysis that Joseba Sarrionandia made (1975 – 1990) about the basque tradition, we will reflect on two subjects: apart from the connection between the institutionalization of the tradition and the diversity of proposals, we will also mention the reasons that stopped its establishment into the new social-politic order.
