Aldiak mugatuz euskal literaturan: eredu bila (Euskal literaturaren Historiografiari buruzko II. jardunaldia)

Abstract

Various criteria have been used to establish literary periods: chronological, sociopolitical, text-genre or generational... In the case of Basque language literature, the sociopolitical approach is ruled out, as Basque speakers have not shared the same sociopolitical events, and literary criteria have been preferred, taking contributions which renew the system of literary norms as the basis for determining periods. In the final analysis there are two options available for establishing the periods of Basque literature: by referring either to literatures in surrounding official languages or to those in minoritized languages.
