Abstract

In this paper the authors would like to examine two totally different aspects in the dis-courses on motherhood. On the one hand, armed with sociological data the authors set out in the first part to examine the vicissitudes that motherhood has undergone between 1979 and 2009. So with the sociological data in mind, the second part is devoted to the analysis of literary texts. When writing this article the works of literature mainly chosen were those by women of child-bearing age.
