Abstract

A Basque and German manuscript dictionary by Rudolf Cruel is preserved in the Lippische Landesbibliothek, a public library of Detmold (Germany). The purpose here is to give notice of this manuscript so far unknown, to classify it and place it in its historical context and offer a critical assessment. It is composed of a Basque-German (~ 780 pages) and German-Basque part (~ 300 pages).
