Abstract

July 2017 saw publication of the 7th survey of the use of Basque on the streets of the Basque Country. This paper publishes the new data gleaned from the measurements taken In 2016. While from 1989 to 2006 the use of Basque in the street rose by 2.5 %, in the last ten years there has been a decline. This situation leads us to posit new challenges in revitalising Basque, and a series of proposals are therefore made in this article.
