Abstract

When addressing the issue of the spanish Civil War (1936-1939) in the narrative of the Basque Country, that is, in the novel and in the lengthy story, please bear in mind that this is one of the first comprehensive overviews on the subject, and, therefore, this work may suffer from some generalizations. Its principal objective is the attempt to set an initial layout, with its limitations, that contemplates the varied possibilities that have occurred in the history of our literature in the Basque language.
