Pulunpa (e)ta Xin! is a comprehensive reception and immersion plan for foreign students who have recently arrived in the Basque Country. The socialization process is articulated around interculturality, play, emotions and the Basque language and, together with the promotion of the use of the Basque language, proposes a series of educational activities that influences the adherence of language to the community, Basque and Basque culture through leisure. This article was drafted jointly by the person who developed the programme and directed the action research and the person who applied the programme as a reference. Thus, the theoretical framework, program and results of the action research carried out during the implementation of the project are presented in the following pages, and with them the conclusions drawn. In between, in formal education, through organized recreation, it is possible to influence the Basque learning of children (and others) of Spanish origin, that is, their engagement with Basque, with Basque culture, and with the speaking community.
