About the Journal
As a publication prior to Euskera Ikerketa Aldizkaria, the review Euskera was the official publication of the Royal Academy of the Basque Language-Euskaltzaindia, published from 1920 to 2022. From 2023 onwards there are two publications: Euskera Ikerketa Aldizkaria and Euskaltzaindiaren buletina. The former publishes original research papers, book reviews and other content in the research area of Euskaltzaindia, and is published on paper and in electronic format. The second documents the academic life and work of Euskaltzaindia, and is published electronically.
Euskera Ikerketa Aldizkaria comes out twice a year: the spring issue (January-June) published between March and April and the second (July-December) between September and October. To publish research papers the Editorial Committee requests the opinion of external assessors, using the double-blind PEER REVIEW system.

Euskera Ikerketa Aldizkaria 2025, 70, 1
The first issue of 2025 was published in April. This issue explores a variety of topics, including: plurilingual writing among secondary school students, the Basque language and interculturality, children's poetry, figurative language, old Basque texts (a sermon by Larramendi and the sermons from the Luisena house in Erredin), literary fragmentarism, sibilants in early Bizkaian (the Mikoleta manuscript), previously unpublished writings by J.-B. Elizanburu, and linguistic rights and legislation in Scandinavia.
This issue includes eight research articles, one note, and a book review. The following authors have contributed their work: Roberto Arias-Hermoso, Amaia Lersundi, Eneritz Garro and Ainara Imaz; Amelia Barquín and Karmele Pérez; Oihane Calvo; Joana Garmendia; Joseba Andoni Lakarra; Ekaitz Santazilia; Paula Solana; Eneko Zuloaga; Jabier Kaltzakorta and Andres Urrutia.
